Chapter Twelve

My shifts at the station seem to drag on even longer now that I know my boy is home alone waiting for me. To know that it's a place he considers home too, well, that is agonizing.

I picture him curled up on the new couch with one of the super soft blankets I got for him wrapped around his long frame. They're a special oversized style that's big enough for him to completely wrap around himself. He'll have a snack on the folding coffee table we thrifted after finding the couch, and there's likely some type of cartoon on the tv to keep him company.

It's not exactly how I would have pictured my life years ago, yet I don't have a single complaint. He's everything I want and more. There isn't an ounce of doubt over whether I want him in my life, as my boy or anything else.

Thoughts of him have me focusing back on my task. He mentioned before about not being able to take baths properly because of his size. While I'd love nothing more than to remodel my bathroom to give him more space, it's not in my budget nor in my lease agreement.

But there isn't anything against a little staycation where I can spoil him.

The webpage in front of me is filled with results for hotels in the area. I've been scrolling through them for the last few hours while it's been quiet here at the station. Each site has photos of the different rooms, so I'm able to guesstimate if my boy will fit or not.

Most of them are a bust, with only a few having anything outside of the standard size. I'm about to expand my search when Keller drops in the seat beside me on the couch in the common area.

"What's got you frowning so bad? I've watched you for nearly ten minutes and you haven't smiled once."

I shake my head at him as I force a grin. "I'm dealing with some roadblocks on a plan for my b- for Hector."

My boy hasn't told his friends about his lifestyle yet. I don't want to be the one to fully out him, though I suspect most know. That and Keller has to have some kind of idea after I asked him and Oscar about being a Daddy right before starting up this relationship. I don't think he's that clueless.

"I see. What kind of problem is it? Maybe I can help." He skips over my near slip, moving straight into helping me.

"You know Hector's tall, right?"

He snorts a laugh. "Yeah. Anyone with decent vision could tell."

"Right. Ok. So, he likes baths — who doesn't — but he doesn't fit in a regular tub. I was thinking of booking us a few days at a local place that might have a tub big enough for him to relax in. Everything I've found so far isn't going to cut it, though."

I huff as I slide the laptop further up my legs. It teeters dangerously before I pull it back down.
